Georgian Bay
Rockscape Design loves challenges and Georgian Bay usually delivers us a few. Most of our work on Georgian Bay is island work which involves coordinating a barge to deliver material and move our equipment, boats to transport staff, sometimes severe and quick changing weather and the access to the island can also be limited in some cases making it difficult to get to the area in need of landscaping without damaging the natural beauty of the island. We are not complaining though, this is what we do best and enjoy every minute of the challenges these opportunities present!
Rockscape Design prides itself on working quickly and making the most of every barge run. We offer our complete services in Georgian Bay from landscaping, irrigation and lighting to maintenance and container plantings.
Lake Joseph
This is the largest residential landscape, in overall area, that Rockscape has completed. We created staircases and walkways from the boathouse at one end of the property to the tennis court, hockey rink, driving range with synthetic practice putting area and pavilion at the other end of the property. With a large area of devastation left behind from the cottage residence construction phase Rockscape Design tree spaded over a dozen 20 foot plus white pine trees and countless numbers of plants to re-naturalize the surrounding area. We worked with on-site blasted rock to create the Muskoka feel.
Lake Rosseau
Although completed about four years ago this landscape is still one of our favourites and includes such highlights as a 50 foot waterfall, a water slide and flowing granite walkways and staircases. The entire project spanned two years for Rockscape Design and we still continue to maintain the property today.
Diamond’s Edge
Golf-side Fractional Ownership Homes at Diamond In The Ruff, Utterson Ontario
Rockscape Design was first asked to work up Landscape Concept drawings for the project which included Phase 1 area, the maintenance building area and the entrance drive and roadway. In the end we were contracted to install the landscape as well. The homes required a landscape that reflected their Muskoka surroundings and the common areas needed some trees, plants and rockwork to give some screening and add some Muskoka flare to what used to be a driving range. With oversized foundation garden beds and sprawling grass areas Rockscape Design found a balance between natural Muskoka and the golf inspired location.
In 2008 we also completed Phase 2 landscaping and appreciated the chance to work with Pearson-McQuaig Inc. and the Diamond staff again.
